Abandon de Ulf Brandström

Après un arrêt forcé au Cap Vert pour un problème de safran, finalement assez benin, Ulf a été contraint à l'abandon pour raisons médicales. Suite à un problème au genou, il a subi une infection qui s'est généralisée à toute sa jambe. Profitant de son escale technique pour consulter, c'est un avis unanime du corps médicale qui l'a poussé à cette décision difficile mais néanmoins salutaire, car il pouvait y laisser sa jambe, voire plus !

Ulf est donc pour le moment hospitalisé à Mindelo, d'où il a organisé le rapatriement de son Nacira vers la Bretagne. Lui même va être rapatrié vers la Suède cette semaine ou son traitement se prolongera. "Je suis déçue d'arrêter là tant la course étaient palpitante. Quelle aventure ! et quelle plaisir de la  vivre sur mon Nacira, ce bateau est décidément épatant !"

Following a pit stop in Cape Verde to repair rudder problem, Ulf has finally to abandon the race for medical reasons. Having a pain in the knee, he consulted differents doctors who gave him all the same advise :  stay ashore and go to the hospital, his leg is infected, with a huge risk of blood poisoning. Hopefully he stopped in the islands to repair and have this diagnostic.


He is now in the clinic in Mindelo from where he organised the way back of his Nacira. He should come back to Sweden this week to go on with his treatment. "Sure I am disapointed, but the race was so intense and fantastic. That's real adventure ! And what a fun with this amazing boat, the Nacira is so great !"
